Help Gabriel to study in the UK
Hello! My name is Gabriel Falcade. I'm a Brazilian cellist and I was accepted to study cello performance in London starting in Sept/2022. To make this dream come true I’ll need to raise £14,000 to cover the fees for international students, which is a huge amount, especially in Brazil’s currency. I do realize it’s only possible to go with your help!

I started to play the cello at age 13 in a state social project called “Projeto Guri” in my hometown of Jundiaí. After a year of lessons, I really became involved in music. I kept studying the cello until I joined the Tatuí Conservatory of Music and Drama, one of the biggest conservatories in Latin America, and shortly after that, I was accepted at the State University of Campinas to get my bachelor’s degree in cello performance in 2014.
The University provided me with opportunities in the UNICAMP Cello Ensemble playing at festivals like Rio Cello Encounter; Campos do Jordão Winter Festival; and the Villa-Lobos Chamber Music Festival in Los Angeles, California, and also recording the CD "Cellos Without Borders". Concurrently, I was seeking more musical experiences, which led me to the classical music scene in São Paulo where I played at the Tom Jobim Youth Orchestra, the São Pedro Theater Academic Orchestra, and the São Paulo State Youth Orchestra.

In addition, teaching music has played a key role in my career path. I started teaching cello really early in my studies as an instructor in a social project in 2013. This evolved to private teaching and, one year later, I was organizing the first public recital of my studio’s students. Since then, it has been 8 years of private teaching, and an open ensemble practice called “Oficina de Violoncelo” directed by me.

Jundiaí Municipal Orchestra
Besides my studio, I’ve been a member of the Jundiaí Municipal String Orchestra and the UNICAMP Cello Quartet since 2018, and assistant director of the Artistic Culture Society of Jundiaí, which promotes concerts and recitals in the city since 2022.

Through these experiences I’ve realized what kind of musician I wanted to be and what my goals are. In order to make these plans come to life, I need to develop myself as a professional musician and once the UK is known for having some of the best conservatories in the world, it would surely be the opportunity of a lifetime to pursue my studies in a country with more investments in culture and classical music.
After being accepted by 4 conservatories in the UK to take a master’s degree in cello performance, I chose to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, which has amazing teachers and is known for being an innovative place that transforms students in artists.
The conservatory already awarded me with a financial support of £8,000. Now I need to raise £14,000 to pay the tuition fee. If I’m able to raise more than that, I’m allowed to use that financial award to support myself in London.
I’ll be forever grateful for any donations and I hope that you can help me share my music in the UK and bring more music to Brazil!
